Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks a Middle School Dean of Students with Master’s degree in Education, 5+ years of successful teaching/counseling/dean experience at middle or high school level. This position reports to the Principal and is a member of the middle school admin team. Candidates with bilingual skills are encouraged to apply.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordination, facilitation and implementation of disciplinary intervention program as well as PBIS program.
- Motivate students in a positive direction to increase individual decision making responsibilities.
- Ability to serve as part of the extended leadership team being solution oriented, planning and facilitating staff meetings and cultural community projects and events.
- Work cooperatively with the principal, counselor, faculty, students and parents towards a positive school culture.
- Provide proactive leadership to engage the school community in the delivery of programs and services to support the students’ academic achievement and personal and social development.
- Ability to successfully work with culturally diverse families and communities and to work successfully and positively with all students providing them with assistance in meeting their academic & behavioral goals.
