This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability.

SUMMARY

Be responsible for assisting Catering Managers within the Catering Department with a variety of tasks. Will handle inquiries giving initial information, contracting and site visits. Will be responsible for BEO distribution, change logs and communicating final event details to all event operations departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Provide general administrative assistance to all Catering Managers
- Create and email reports to the proper departments
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Handle client requests in the absence of Catering Managers
- Any other assigned tasks asked of you by managers.
- Participate in an "aggressive hospitality program," greeting all guests with warmth and enthusiasm, and be attentive to their needs while they are with us.
- Support managers within the catering department as requested
- Learn and follow all hotel policies and procedures pertaining to your area of work.
- Follow established uniform standards and comply with all other company policies.
- Practice safety standards and reports all unsafe conditions.
- Provide fast and courteous service to our guests; to accomplish this, a well organized work area must be maintained.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times as a goodwill ambassador of the AGPH to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Associate's attitude, willingness to please guests, ability to get along with co-workers and supervisors.
- Good record of attendance and punctuality at work.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Must be able to lift 20 lb.
- Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office and Teams
- Familiar with hotel layout, products, services, amenities, and history a plus
- Applicant must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with catering software is preferred
- Should be professional, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- The ability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Willing to work outside these hours when necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or GED is required
- 2 years previous Catering or Conventions experience preferred
- Prior Hotel / Hospitality experience preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Hospitality Bachelors program preferred
