Job Description

  • Manage design, implementation and technical artefacts for technology lifecycles and within ADCB engineering standards and guardrails to ensure successful achievement of implementation plans. Build and implement standard and repeatable design patterns, components and technology solutions in order to deliver on business objectives, customer needs and ensure security, scalability, reliability and performance. Maintain and share current thinking and trends around technology trends and practices, mentoring and coaching engineers to ensure inclusion of best practice and skills modernization. Oversee the day-to-day implementation of technology and digital strategy, roadmaps and prioritised initiatives as agreed with Platforms, Chapters and Tribes, working in cross-functional squads in order to achieve agreed turnaround times (TATs) and implementation plan. Guide, coach and role model a data-driven approach in order to maximise performance, including producing reporting and insights. Play a lead role with engineering teams and squads around change control, testing, incident management, troubleshooting and release management to ensure successful implementation. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvements in software development process and tools to ensure best practice solutions are considered consistently.
  • Oversee coordination with external vendors to ensure services are provided as per agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and TATs and remediation plans in place for variances beyond tolerance thresholds. Work closely with solution architects and vendors in order to enhance ADCB capabilities and address technical debt.
  • Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance. Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation.
  • Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the Bank’s standards.
