Description

Associate React (Front-End) Engineer is responsible for building engaging, performant, and accessible user experiences across Davies’ digital products and platforms. As a key member of a cross‑functional Agile delivery squad, the role designs and implements high‑quality front-end components using React, TypeScript, modern UI patterns, and cloud‑native integration practices. Working closely with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, Architects, Backend Engineers, and QA teams, the React Engineer ensures that user interfaces are intuitive, scalable, secure, and aligned with the overall technical strategy and design system. The role contributes to front‑end standards, promotes engineering best practice, and helps evolve Davies’ approach to user‑centred digital experience delivery. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong front‑end fundamentals, a passion for modern React development, and a desire to build products that deliver real value for customers and internal users.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build high-quality, maintainable, reusable React components using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks. 
  • Implement user interfaces that are performant, accessible, responsive, and consistent with the organisation’s design system. 
  • Integrate with backend APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems using modern client-side patterns. 
  • Write clean, testable, secure code following FRONT-END engineering best practices (SOLID, DRY, component isolation, secure-by-default). 
  • Use modern tooling including Webpack/Vite, Redux/Context, React Query, and UI component libraries as appropriate.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong experience building production applications with React.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Understanding of component-based architecture, hooks, state management, client-side routing. 
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG)
  • Experience of integrating with REST APIs and backend services. 
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern build tools. 
  • Experience with automated front-end testing frameworks.
