Job Description
ABSL is seeking a full time Quality Technician to perform inspections on manufacturing and test processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports to Quality Technician Supervisor
- Performs quality control inspection of hardware to aerospace standards, drawings and work instructions.
- Performs QMS systems checks to ensure compliance with documented facility procedures
- Performs peer checks for manufacturing and test technicians.
- Performs material kit checks to verify correct materials and material traceability
- Ensures all build and test documentation is completed correctly.
- Ensures all necessary paperwork and processes are completed following a non-conformance incident to allow build to continue.
- Performs durometer testing.
- Performs incoming inspection of all purchased parts and associated paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager or Quality Inspection Supervisor
Qualifications
- High School Diploma w/ 0-2 years’ experience as quality inspector/technician in high-reliability company, preferably in the aerospace or medical industry OR associates degree w/ no experience
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a contributing member
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in accordance with OSHA requirements
- Attention to detail and ability interpret engineering drawings and procedures.
- Able to occasionally travel to support off-site processes.
- Ability and experience utilizing magnification aids to perform inspection tasks.
- Have the ability to obtain the following industry certifications in soldering, harnessing, and polymerics through company sponsored, off-site training (including vision far, near, and color testing to NASA 8739 series requirements):
- IPC J-STD-001
- IPC/WHMA-A-620
- NASA-STD-8739.1
- Computer competency (proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, electronic travellers, etc.).
