Quality Technician

ABSL is seeking a full time Quality Technician to perform inspections on manufacturing and test processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reports to Quality Technician Supervisor
• Performs quality control inspection of hardware to aerospace standards, drawings and work instructions.
• Performs QMS systems checks to ensure compliance with documented facility procedures
• Performs peer checks for manufacturing and test technicians.
• Performs material kit checks to verify correct materials and material traceability
• Ensures all build and test documentation is completed correctly.
• Ensures all necessary paperwork and processes are completed following a non-conformance incident to allow build to continue.
• Performs durometer testing.
• Performs incoming inspection of all purchased parts and associated paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager or Quality Inspection Supervisor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma w/ 0-2 years’ experience as quality inspector/technician in high-reliability company, preferably in the aerospace or medical industry OR associates degree w/ no experience
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a contributing member
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in accordance with OSHA requirements
• Attention to detail and ability interpret engineering drawings and procedures.
• Able to occasionally travel to support off-site processes.
• Ability and experience utilizing magnification aids to perform inspection tasks.
• Have the ability to obtain the following industry certifications in soldering, harnessing, and polymerics through company sponsored, off-site training (including vision far, near, and color testing to NASA 8739 series requirements):
• IPC J-STD-001
• IPC/WHMA-A-620
• NASA-STD-8739.1
• Computer competency (proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, electronic travellers, etc.).
