Job Description
Job Purpose
Develop, implement and realize the sales/service and/or business plan and develop, structure and manager the assigned area/unit within the overall business strategy, in order to realize commercial and business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attaining sales, service, and signed contract quotas as assigned by the General Manager
- Identifying and profiling National Accounts
- Designing and presenting presentations to meet customers’ expectations
- Working closely with the Directors\ VP of Sales and Marketing on contract construction and negotiation
- Maintaining close contact with National Account personnel at both the local and national level
- Working with company sales and service network to properly maintain National Accounts
- Maintain and grow existing accounts by ensuring a high level of customer service, coordinating company responses to customer technical requests, and negotiating favorable pricing and contract terms
- Identify new customers in target market segments and secure new customer relationships
- Generate accurate cost estimates based on a statement of work and evaluate risks associated with new projects
- Represent customer interests in the product development process and internal production initiatives relating to efficiency and cost reduction
- Track weekly and monthly Business Development performance through weekly and monthly performance metrics and report to Senior Management
- Support the development and execution of a strategic plan
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- At least 5-10 years of proven successful sales experience in the material handling industry
- 5 years of sales management experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Superior communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong multi-tasking ability
- Basic financial analysis techniques
- The ability to understand and explain technical electrical systems and material handling is required
- Able to write reports, interpret general business periodicals, manuals, and journals
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous industrial battery sales experience
- Experience working directly with large telecommunications & broadband providers
- Installation and/or design experience with battery, DC & UPS power and related products.
General Job Requirements
- Must be able to differentiate colors.
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
- Risk of electrical shock.
- This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
- This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
