What will you be doing!
- Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, dismantling, installing, and adjusting refrigeration, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
- Inspecting and servicing components such as compressors, condensers, valves, thermostats, and control systems.
- Balancing ventilation systems and taking air velocity readings to ensure performance meets design specifications.
- Reading and interpreting drawings, work packages, and technical documentation to understand job scope.
- Performing leak checks and servicing refrigeration systems, including handling refrigerants.
- Installing refrigeration lines and completing brazing/soldering using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintaining safe and clean work environments in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Attending safety meetings, reporting hazards, and applying safe work practices.
- Assisting in training, coaching, and mentoring apprentices and junior team members.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Secondary school diploma
- Certification as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic (completion of apprenticeship program)
- Experience
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Experience working with ventilation systems and mechanical components in an industrial or facilities environment
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools for documentation and communication
- Experience with Distributed Digital Control (DDC) systems is considered an asset
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and safe work practices
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and drawings
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within multi-trade teams
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
- Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
This position is part of the AC Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the AC Collective Agreement.
