
Fleet Specialist IV- Lead Tech (260 Days)
Job Description
- Enforce cleanliness and organization of garage facilities, tools, and equipment.
- Assists mechanics with complex maintenance and repair tasks.
- Determine optimal repair parts and procedures to be utilized while maintaining cost- effectiveness.
- Maintain open communication with employees, management, and vendors for the dissemination of information.
- Review and help manage vehicle equipment and part warranties.
- Provide input to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and procedures; monitor quality control and maintenance procedure.
- Operate various standard and heavy equipment utilized in vehicle repair.
- Assist in maintaining job performance from all shop personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicate daily with the Shop Forman on the readiness status of pertinent.
- District vehicles, shop personnel performance, the status of diagnostic tools and equipment, and other issues as they relate to the District Transportation operation.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Passenger (P) and School (S) endorsements required.
- Five or more years of direct experience with Diesel, gas, or propane vehicle repair/maintenance required.
- Prior experience in a school district vehicle maintenance operation a plus.
- Comfortable in the daily usage of Microsoft Outlook and Word software.
- Specialized courses in diesel, gas or propane engine repair/maintenance (College or Vocational).
- Must maintain a driving record that meets District standards.
- Prior experience in a school district vehicle maintenance operation a plus.
- ASE certification is a preferred.
