Job Summary
The Medical/Laboratory Gas Pipeline Equipment Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of medical gas pipeline systems, sourcing equipment and related accessories to healthcare facilities, contractors, and engineering firms. This role focuses on developing relationships, managing the full sales cycle, and ensuring compliance with healthcare codes and standards while achieving revenue and growth targets
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies for medical and laboratory gas pipeline equipment, including outlets, manifolds, alarms, zone valve boxes, and source equipment
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, laboratories, colleges, universities, and other healthcare facilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, distributors, engineers, architects, and facility managers
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and specification through quotation, order placement, and post-sale support
Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, and operations to ensure accurate specifications and successful project execution
Provide technical knowledge and consultative support to customers
Maintain detailed opportunity tracking, forecasting, and reporting through CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
Stay current on NFPA 99, NFPA55, HTM, CSA, and other applicable medical gas codes and standards
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and profitability goals
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Healthcare, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3-7+ years of sales experience, preferably in medical gas systems, healthcare construction, or industrial equipment
Strong understanding of medical/laboratory gas pipeline systems and healthcare facility environments
Proven ability to manage long-cycle, project-based sales
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to read construction drawings and specifications (preferred)
Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
Willingness to travel within assigned territory
