Job Summary
M-F 6:30a to 10:30 20hrs a weekEssential Functions
Safely operate shuttle buses and passenger coach vehicles to transport passengers to designated destinations.
Provide courteous, professional, and customer-focused service while ensuring passenger safety.
Follow assigned shuttle routes, schedules, and departure times as directed by management and dispatch.
Communicate with dispatch regarding traffic delays, route changes, detours, or other transportation issues.
Operate vehicles in compliance with company fleet safety policies and all applicable federal, state, and local traffic laws.
Complete required vehicle and trip documentation, including passenger counts, mileage, vehicle inspections, and daily logs.
Ensure passenger capacity limits are maintained in accordance with safety regulations.
Assist passengers with disabilities and mobility needs, including safely operating wheelchair lifts and providing boarding/disembarking assistance.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Promptly report vehicle issues, accidents, passenger incidents, emergencies, or safety concerns to supervisors or dispatch.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle environment for passengers.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Relevant experience may be substituted for the preferred education
Licenses & Credentials
- Valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Must pass and maintain an MGH RMV driving record check
- Ability to obtain and maintain:
- DOT Medical Card
- Air Brake Endorsement
- Passenger Endorsement
Experience
- 1–2 years of proven shuttle bus driving experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Safe operation of shuttle buses and coach-style vehicles
- Ability to drive confidently in varying traffic and weather conditions
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance procedures
- Accurate recordkeeping and documentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving and adaptability
- Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
- Ability to meet all DOT and CDL regulatory requirements
