Are you a Design Technologist, or EIT who is interested in learning and crafting creative solutions to manage the evolving challenges facing municipalities and regional districts in British Columbia? Are you interested in working on a diverse range of projects where no two days are the same while nestled into the mountainous landscapes of BC’s interior? If so, we want to hear from you as we have opportunities for Design Technologists and Engineers to join our Fernie and Rossland offices.

A Little About You
Your cover letter must demonstrate:
Your interest or connection to the communities in Rossland or Fernie.
Your work ethic and learning style
Your resume should show us:
Graduate of an accredited Engineering Design Technology, or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering program
Registration or eligibility for registration with ASTTBC or EGBC
The number of years of experience that you have working in the municipal engineering discipline, working with MMCD design guidelines/standards and construction best practices.
Proficiency with design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Auto Turn, MS Office Suite
Bonus points for:
Knowledge of project lifecycle and deliverable requirements for multi-discipline municipal projects
Knowledge of municipal mechanical and process systems such as pump stations, Pressure Reducing Valves, water and wastewater treatment systems.
Any experience experimenting with or incorporating AI software interfaces into workflows.

Our Kootenay offices, located in Fernie and Rossland, offer the successful candidate(s) the opportunity to not only develop their skills with an organization that impacts local lives, but also to work in some of Canada’s most beautiful locales. In your pre-hire questionnaire, please indicate whether you are interested in Fernie, Rossland, or both locations!
While both our Fernie and Rossland offices are focused on municipal engineering, through the nature of collaboration, we play key roles in projects which involve many different disciplines. This exposure results in the development of a well-rounded civil/municipal, skillset.
The successful applicant(s) will have a get it done attitude, an ability and willingness to learn and support projects at a technical level as required for project success. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Developing designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other computer-aided drafting programs
Inspecting construction of municipal engineering projects
Preparing engineering base plans, designs, drawings, and cost estimates for municipal engineering projects (roadworks, water and wastewater, and storm water management)
Producing design calculations and analysis for water, storm water and sanitary sewer collection systems
Assisting in preparing engineering and construction tender documents and contracts
Providing design and construction services for a variety of project types
Providing input into project budgeting and scheduling
Coordinating with clients, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to facilitate project requirements
Collaborating with internal and external project team members and stakeholders

Depending on your experience level, the salary range for this position (based on a 40-hour work week) is:
$60,000 - $100,000
