National Account Manager – Kidde Canada
Location: Hybrid in Vaughan, Canada
Base Salary Rate: $89,743 - $105,570 per year
Job type: Full-time position
About This Role
The National Account Manager reports directly to the Director of Retail Sales. This position internally interacts regularly with local sales and operations employees along with cross functional teams both in Canada and the United States. Externally managing top, two regional retail accounts and our service agent/rep partners where applicable. Responsibilities of this job include working with sales and marketing groups to provide action plans for achieving double digit revenue growth, price integrity, margin enhancement, and well-coordinated project execution and growth within all other retail channels, by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities
Direct sales responsibility for Kidde’s National Accounts to include but not limited to, Amazon Canada, Home Hardware, Kent, Federated Co-Op, London Drugs, and Giant Tiger.
Liaison with the Director of Retail Sales to support Customer Buying Groups and actively participate in negotiations when required.
Additionally, as a core sales team member, assisting where needed with other National Accounts. Implementations of store resets, road shows or other line review deliverables as required.
Generate support for sales promotion, evaluates promotional opportunities and makes recommendations for high potential programs and POG changes within the retail other channel.
Gathers data from the market and communicates recommended adjustments to Kidde’s assortment within the assigned account responsibility.
Actively participates in strategic planning, process improvement, and problem resolution across cross functional units.
Coordinates efforts and conducts quarterly business reviews with regional rep partners.
Maximizes sales potential by coordinating efforts to educate store personnel, maintain point-of-purchase displays, conduct seasonal events, and perform service activities.
Provides creative direction into POP design for the development and production of innovative POP materials.
Effectively collaborates monthly or as required with internal US account stake holders. Builds strong relationships within our brand and marketing Teams structure.
Identifies and captains Kidde’s efforts within adjacent customer brand and product knowledge programs.
Researches and provides opportunities that will expand product specific marketing, and promotional programs for regional implementation.
Coordinates cross functionally with Kidde team to ensure successful and effective events, branding campaigns, product launches, and signage.
Maintaining monthly comparative shops and .ca site reviews for pricing adjustments and content validation
Collaboration on monthly forecasting and annual operating plan as required.
Performs other duties or projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
5+ years’ national account experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Home Hardware, Costco, BMR, Canac, London Drugs, Fed Co-Op, Kent and/or Amazon
Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Power Bi would be an asset.
Language Ability: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills sets required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and through written material with upper management, customers, agencies, sales representatives, exhibit companies, trade show convention companies, and colleagues. French as a second language is a preference.
Daily: Excellent analytical skill set required. Ability to work autonomously and adaptable in a pressured sales environment maintaining effectiveness during a time of change. Known as a team player. You are a self-motivator with a positive attitude.
