Tutor Positions (Reading, Math, and Spanish)
Overview:
William C. Lewis Dual Language Elementary School is seeking dedicated tutors to provide small-group and individual academic support in Reading, Math, and Spanish Language Arts. The ideal candidates will have experience working in diverse school settings, a strong commitment to student growth, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and specialists.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (no Wednesdays)
General Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting (elementary level preferred)
- Experience supporting diverse learners, including multilingual students and those with learning challenges
- Ability to collect, track, and report progress monitoring data with accuracy and consistency
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to work independently after initial guidance
- Demonstrated ability to adapt curricular materials to meet student needs
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred; bilingualism is required for the Spanish Tutor role
- Preference given to candidates with teaching certification or education-related degrees
Reading Tutor Responsibilities:
- Provide small-group reading intervention using district-approved materials (primarily phonics-based programs)
- Support comprehension instruction for upper grades as needed
- Collect and record progress monitoring data with fidelity
- Collaborate with reading specialists and classroom teachers to align instruction
- Work independently during scheduled reading intervention times
Math Tutor Responsibilities:
- Provide small-group math instruction using Bridges and pre-selected curricular materials
- Plan and prepare materials aligned with pacing guides and student needs
- Record and report student progress data
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce key math skills
For Bilingual Math Tutor Applicants:
- Support students in Spanish during the delivery of math instruction within dual-language classrooms
Spanish Tutor Responsibilities:
- Provide small-group academic support in Spanish Language Arts and content areas
- Reinforce foundational literacy skills and vocabulary development
- Support bilingual and bi-literate development aligned with the immersion model
- Collect and report progress data collaboratively with the classroom teacher
Compensation:

| Tier 1 | Master's Degree in Education | $38/hour |
| Tier 2 | Bachelor's Degree in Education | $33/hour |
| Tier 3 | Bachelor's Degree (any major) | $28/hour |
| Tier 4 | Associate's Degree in Education OR Junior/Senior in relevant program | $25/hour |
| Tier 5 | No Degree | $22/hour |
