
Community Engagement Specialist (1992)
Job Description
Responsible for facilitating volunteer and in-kind services within Family and Community Partnerships services delivered in all Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start (HS) program options at Neighborhood Centers Inc. Responsible for developing and maintaining community partnerships with families, volunteers and organizations and delivering quality services in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and all other local, state and federal regulations.
1. Provide relevant, effective on-going training and technical assistance opportunities for staff and parents on relevant topics volunteers, In Kind tracking and community resources.
2. Report timely monthly data required for use in the Program Information report (PIR) and accountability meetings.
3. Track volunteer services and donations and ensure documentation is maintained and meets the 20% Head Start in-kind requirement.
4. Develop Memorandum of Understandings with community agencies to enhance specialized service delivery to families enrolled in the EHS/HS program.
5. Participate in advisory boards, inter-agency meetings, Policy Council and applicable subcommittees.
Research and maintain current information regarding area community services that support the healthy development and functioning of families.
7. Create, implement and update community partnerships policies and procedures as appropriate as well internal tracking of department and program wide activities related to family and community engagement.
8. Lead special projects related to family and community engagement taking into consideration program needs, department plans, and community initiatives.
9. Maintain close communication with other Head Start Programs in the area to ensure proper sharing of resources, networking and to stay current with required polices and procedures.
10. Active member of the Family and Community Engagement Team in addressing issues, concerns, planning, and delivery of services and activities to families and staff.
