Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator position will perform the following duties:
- Works to negotiate lowest freight costs without reducing service level. Identify backhaul opportunities for optimizing fleet utilization.
- Compile department reports as assigned, i.e. financial reports, pipeline opportunity reporting, vendor profiles, etc.
- Interpret and manipulate complex sets of geographic mapping, financial and numerical data.
- Coordinate all contract carrier movements. Monitor accepted loads and verify loads are delivered on time.
- Audit carriers’ freight bills to ensure they agree with carriers’ confirmations and invoice opco for freight moves.
- Manage all claims, vendor chargebacks and overages/shortages/damages (OS&D) with appropriate department and/or external entity.
- Manages internal and external communications within opco and external entities as assigned. Effectively communicates through written and verbal mediums.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
