Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to manage the transportation, inventory, and distribution of production materials and finished goods throughout our facility. This role is crucial in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring accurate inventory tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks to transport materials safely and efficiently.
- Handle and distribute paper rolls (up to 3,500 pounds) directly to machines.
- Verify inventory counts and properly store received materials.
- Deliver and remove skids or pallets of materials to and from machine areas.
- Utilize JDE or other ERP systems to issue, assign, track, and return materials for specific jobs.
- Transfer finished cartons from conveyors to pallets, wrap them, and move them to staging areas per job specifications.
- Maintain a clean recycling area and manage the delivery/removal of recycling containers from the production line.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $16.23 per hour (based on skills & experience) + $1.50 shift differential
Shifts Available (Includes Various Weekends)
Training Schedule:
New hires will begin on a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM for approximately 4–6 weeks of training. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to the night shift schedule below.
Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Rotating Shift Schedule:
Week 1: 48 hours (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday)
Week 2: 36 hours (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic computer and math skills
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years or older
- At least 1 year of experience operating material handling equipment preferred
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk regularly
- Frequently use hands for handling materials, reach with arms, and communicate clearly
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Have distance vision, color vision, and focus adjustment abilities
Additional Requirements
Steel-toe or composite-toe safety shoes are required and must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
Work Environment
Frequent exposure to moving machinery
Occasional exposure to extreme heat
Loud work environment—hearing protection required (provided)
