Job Summary
We are seeking an Envelope Packer/Quality Control to ensure the quality and accuracy of our envelope manufacturing process. This role involves inspecting envelopes, packing finished products, and supporting overall production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify that envelope production matches job specifications, placing an approved sample on the machine.
- Inspect the work from previous shifts for quality and proper packing.
- Check box and carton counts on skids, immediately reporting discrepancies.
- Remove, inspect, and pack finished envelopes, discarding defective products and replacing them as needed.
- Conduct quality checks for proper adhesion, tears, splits, sizing, and print accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including waste removal and floor mopping.
- Label and mark cartons as instructed, ensuring proper tracking with date stamps.
- Record production data accurately in machine work logs.
- Assist in machine setup, clearing jams, and supporting adjustments made by the Envelope Folding Machine Adjuster.
- Train and mentor Machine Operator Trainees as needed.
- Follow safety and operational procedures, actively participating in lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with team members across shifts to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour (based on skills & ability)
Shifts Available (Includes Various Weekends)
Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Shift Schedule:
- Week 1: 48 hours (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday)
- Week 2: 36 hours (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Skills & Qualifications
✅ Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work instructions, and manuals
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
✅ Ability to read a ruler and perform accurate measurements
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
️ At least 3 months of manufacturing experience and/or training preferred
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This role requires the ability to:
✔ Stand for extended periods and use hands for precise handling
✔ Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
✔ Occasionally walk, reach, bend, kneel, or crawl
✔ Lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
✔ Work in an environment with moving machinery, airborne particles, and occasional extreme heat
✔ Tolerate loud noise levels—hearing protection may be required
✔ Have close vision, distance vision, and color recognition
