
Student Lifeguards (Multiple positions)
Job Description
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $15.00/hour
WORK CALENDAR: 178 Days
STANDARD HOURS: Periods based on availability
PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District
Position Purpose
Monitor and supervise the pool facilities, enforcing policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Monitor and enforce pool rules and policies.
- Keep the facility clean and organized.
- Know the facility's emergency action plan, and how to engage it.
- Perform life saving duties when needed.
- Answer patrons' questions and follow up on requests.
- Assist with the opening and closing of the facility as needed.
- Attend all scheduled meetings
- Maintain a good level of physical fitness.
- Responds to medical emergencies; performs first aid and uses proper lifesaving equipment and techniques.
- Provides customer service to patrons to include the handling of customer conflict and complaints.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills, as well as quality people skills.
- Knowledge of the schools pool rules and policies.
- Ability to adapt to emergency situations.
- Ability to swim.
- The preferred candidate must have or is willing to obtain their lifeguard certification and have the credentials before applying.
- The preferred candidate will have experience working with peers.
- The preferred candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
- The preferred candidate will have some background and knowledge of physical fitness, athletics, sports, swimming and or coaching.
