Job Title: Logging Superintendent
Location: Project Specific (CA-Based) – Travel Required
Reports to: Operations Manager
Compensation Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually
Other Compensation: Per-Diem and lodging provided

What We Are Looking For
CTL Forest Management is seeking a highly skilled Logging Superintendent to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of our logging operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to customer specifications. You will play a key role in coordinating activities and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee and manage field operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Coordinate and direct trucks to and from project and delivery locations.
- Supervise and sort field operations, ensuring forest products are sorted and processed according to contract specifications.
- Maintain high standards of log quality and ensure compliance with end-use requirements.
- Communicate with mechanics to address maintenance and repair needs promptly.
- Operate logging equipment when needed.
- Coordinate with upper management and manage field crews, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Engage with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor and resolve operational issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow.
- Keep accurate records and reports related to operations, safety, and quality control.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ Proven experience in logging operations, including a background in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, logging procedures, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage operations effectively under pressure.
- Relevant certifications and training in logging, safety practices, and equipment maintenance are an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the designated area.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, and balance in varying conditions
- Must be able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be willing to wear PPE including hard hat, protective eyewear, gloves, and steel-toed boots
- Ability to work in challenging environments including adverse weather, uneven terrain, and active logging sites
- Commitment to following safety standards and protocols
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving equipment and outdoor elements
- Frequent exposure to heat, dust, vibration, and loud noise
- Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, cold temperatures, or elevated work areas
- Worksite conditions may include steep slopes, forest roads, post-fire terrain, and remote locations
