Compensation Range: $ 125,000 - $ 150,000 annually (depending on location, experience, skills and qualifications)
Other Compensation: Eligible for discretionary bonus

What We Are Looking For
We are hiring several senior-level Superintendent who excels in fast‑paced, operationally complex environments and can lead field teams through all phases of disaster recovery and construction projects. The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership, operational discipline, and financial acumen, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and changing conditions.
You will be hands‑on, safety‑driven, and highly organized, capable of planning work, directing the daily activities of workers and subcontractors, managing materials and schedules, and ensuring strict adherence to contract requirements. Success in this role requires the ability to coordinate multiple work streams, resolve issues quickly in the field, and interface effectively with government representatives, inspectors, suppliers, and labor representatives while maintaining clear communication with project management.

What You Will Do
- Reads, understands, and adheres to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
- Reviews and interprets contract documents to plan work procedures, including establishing start and completion timelines and determining staffing requirements for each project phase.
- Coordinates and orders procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure timely delivery aligned with project schedules.
- Leverages financial knowledge to guide operational decisions, aligning field strategies with cost control and profit objectives.
- Directs and coordinates personnel and subcontractors in the planning and execution of on‑site work, aligning project phases to prevent schedule conflicts and delays.
- May serve as primary field point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on production and addressing client concerns.
- Works with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to address and resolve workforce complaints, issues, and grievances.
- Collaborates with Project Management, inspectors, and material suppliers to resolve operational challenges and improve work methods.
- Inspects work to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and terms and conditions.
- Prepares and reviews daily production reports, including progress, labor and materials usage, debris hauled or processed, and associated costs; adjusts work schedules as required.
- Provides direct supervision to five (5) or more employees, either on a single large project or across multiple smaller projects. In addition, indirect reports will be up to 30.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support project and operational objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience as a senior-level Superintendent or comparable field leadership role within disaster recovery, construction, or related field operations.
- 5+ years of people management and coordination experience, with a track record of planning, directing, and sequencing work for crews and subcontractors across multiple project phases to maintain schedules and minimize operational disruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply safety regulations, contract documents (including subcontracts), project specifications, and construction drawings.
- Demonstrated financial and operational accountability, including experience managing labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, reviewing production and cost reports, and making field-level decisions that support budget adherence and profitability.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively with minimal advance notice, including short‑notice deployment to disaster‑affected locations across the U.S.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with field crews, subcontractors, project leadership, and clients.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to meet company driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management or related field.
- Prior experience at the Superintendent level on Disaster Recovery projects with a high volume of varied debris removal.
- First Aid/CPR certified, OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, additional certifications in civil construction or related disciplines.
Physical Requirements and Environment:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus where required to safely perform the job.
- Willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, etc. in jobs that require PPE
- Ability to work in adverse weather/field conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, exposure to mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and loud noise levels.
What to Expect
The Superintendent role supports active disaster recovery operations and requires flexibility, resilience, and hands‑on field leadership. Deployments may occur with short notice to disaster‑affected areas across the U.S., often involving long hours, extended workdays, and challenging site conditions.
You will spend most of your time in the field leading crews and subcontractors, coordinating work activities, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring safety, compliance, productivity, and cost control. Conditions may be fast‑changing, and decisions made in the field directly impact project outcomes.
Schedules can be demanding during active response periods, including weekends and consecutive workdays. This role is well‑suited for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments, take ownership of results, and are motivated by restoring communities after disasters.
This position is not ideal for those seeking predictable schedules, limited travel, or primarily office‑based work.
