Job Description

General Definition:

  • Cooking, preparing, and serving concessions food and beverage items to patrons in a friendly and professional manner at the Grandstand.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Preparing and serving concession items while providing an excellent guest experience
  • Greet guests, communicate offerings, and answer any questions in a friendly manner
  • Serve food and beverage items, following proper sanitation guidelines and adhering to all alcohol service policies
  • Participate in the set-up of the kiosk, arrange inventory, and notify stand lead of any inventory shortages
  • Maintain a clean appearance of the work area, including cleaning equipment
  • Follows directions of the supervisor as directed
  • Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • No prior education needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess good organization skills.
  • Basic math.
  • Ability to communicate and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to interact positively with coworkers and management.
  • Ability to prioritize time so that work is accomplished on a dependable basis; is reliable and committed to meeting schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, including being proactive and resourceful, working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to win confidence and gain respect through consistent demonstrations of personal courtesy, tact and timely responsiveness.

Training:

  • No prior experience or training required.

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

  • Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
  • Serve-safe certified (Food Handlers)

  • Strength:
    • Sedentary to medium workload
    • Stand, sit and walk consistently
    • Will be required to lift up to or over 20lbs or exert occasionally over 50lbs
  • Movement:
    • Will consistently be required to touch, feel, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, reach
    • Will use office equipment
    • Driving motor vehicles as needed
  • Auditory:
    • Frequently speak and articulate
    • Noise levels will be varied from moderate to heavy machinery
  • Environmental:
    • Exposure to weather and extreme elements are minimal
    • Minimal exposure in close proximity to horses
