DNG Facilities Technician

Job Description

As a Natural Gas Facilities Technician, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Irving Oil Delivered Natural Gas (DNG) network. Your goal will be to carefully manage our DNG supply infrastructure through proper monitoring and maintenance of our compression facilities, decompression equipment, tractor trailers and associated equipment across the DNG network. Your success will depend on your ability to oversee the general and detailed maintenance of our facilities and the safety of it’s occupants.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance at Natural gas Compression and Decompression sites

  • Perform routine facility and equipment inspections and maintenance

  • Adhere to Operating Discipline standards by following all Irving Oil policies, procedures, guidelines, safe-work practices, operating protocols, and emergency response requirements

  • Respond quickly to facility or equipment issues, escalating concerns when necessary, assessing emergency situations, and executing appropriate corrective actions

  • Maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations across Natural Gas facilities, including all compression stations and customer decant sites

  • Promote safety and compliance by following all procedures, and safe-work practices

  • Provides timely and reliable support for after-hours service needs during assigned on-call weeks, following a rotation of three weeks off and one week on

  • Possibility of working shift work and filling other positions as required

 

Your Skills:

  • Safety as a way of life mindset and a continuous improvement mindset

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

  • Ability to travel daily for work, with occasional overnight travel

  • You must be willing and able to wear all PPE

  • Strong computer literacy and Microsoft Office Suite skills

Your Experience:

  • High-School diploma required, with Post-Secondary Education preferred

  • Experience and/or certification(s) as an Instrumentation Technician, Millwright, Pipefitter, or Gas Technician 1 is preferred

  • Red Seal certification is considered an asset

  • Must hold a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
