Lunch and Recess Paraprofessional - 3 Hours Per Day

Part Time Lunch/Recess Paraprofessionals - 2026-2027 School Year

Amherst Middle School seeking a part time employee for 15 hours a week, three hours per day, to monitor lunch and recess grades 5-8. We are looking for individuals with experience working with adolescents, present with a positive attitude, and have the ability to enforce basic school rules and procedures under the guidance of administration. Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, the individuals will assist with managing the lunch and recess to provide a safe environment.

Essential Job Functions
- Assist and guide students in following school rules and procedures. 
- Provide supervision of students during lunch and recess. 
- Assist with behavioral management to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to carry out school rules and procedures.
- Ability to establish a supportive relationship with students.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and staff.
- Effective verbal communication skills.

Qualifications Profile
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with children.
