Job Description
Littelfuse (NASDAQ: LFUS) is a diversified industrial technology manufacturing company shaping solutions for the safe and efficient transfer of electrical energy. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, USA, we serve customers across industrial, transportation, and electronics markets worldwide. With approximately 16,000 employees we design and manufacture innovative technologies that support electrification, energy efficiency, and advanced automation. Our global reach is matched by a culture that empowers innovation and long-term growth. Guided by our principles We Care, We Succeed With Our Customers, and We Own the Outcome, we work collaboratively, think boldly, and deliver solutions that move industries forward.
As a Process Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team at the Littelfuse manufacturing site, supporting semiconductor process optimization, stability, and continuous improvement across assigned production areas. You will work closely with Product Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure robust, high-yield manufacturing processes and support the introduction and qualification of new process recipes.
Your impact will be measured by improvements in process capability, yield performance, stability of assigned processes, and timely resolution of production issues.
About the Job:
Take ownership of assigned semiconductor manufacturing processes such as diffusion, photolithography, metallization, bonding, sintering, encapsulation, test, and related backend processes.
Optimize and maintain process parameters to ensure stable, repeatable, and capable manufacturing output.
Develop, update, and implement process recipes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Monitor process performance using SPC (Statistical Process Control) and support regular reporting of key process metrics.
Analyse yield and in-process data to identify trends, deviations, and potential root causes.
Support and lead structured problem-solving activities (e.g. 8D, 5-Why, DMAIC) to resolve process-related issues.
Act as a technical support point for production issues within assigned process areas, working closely with Maintenance and Product Engineering teams.
Support process qualification activities for new products and process changes, ensuring capability and yield requirements are met.
Provide input into process capability improvements, focusing on yield, throughput, and reduction of variation.
Contribute to documentation control, ensuring process standards and procedures remain accurate and up to date.
Support training of technicians and operators on assigned processes and equipment.
Collaborate with Product Engineers to align process capability with device performance and quality requirements.
Communicate process performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to the Engineering Manager and wider stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lean manufacturing activities within the site.
About You:
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
Some experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (semiconductor experience is an advantage but not essential).
Strong analytical mindset with an interest in data-driven problem solving.
Basic understanding or exposure to SPC, statistical analysis, or quality tools (e.g. JMP, Minitab, Excel).
Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods such as 5-Why or 8D is beneficial.
Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to learn semiconductor processes and develop technical expertise over time.
Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts would be an advantage, but not required.
Confident working in a hands-on engineering environment and supporting shop floor teams when needed.
Littelfuse strives to empower associate growth and development in a culture of ongoing collaboration and respect for diverse global perspectives and expertise.
