Key Accountabilities
1. PERFORMS the following operating duties, as assigned: REGULATES temperatures of water cooled equipment, OPERATES auxiliary and signal equipment, CHANGES charts and TAKES readings of station load and takes readings of station loads and voltages. CHECKING station battery voltage and control bus grounds. ACTS as safety operator on jobs as authorized by Supervisor. MAKES station inspections of buildings, equipment and property.
2. When two operating personnel are required, ASSISTS the Operator on such work as shutting down or energizing buses, transformers or lines, switching, jumpering, phasing or testing.
3. MUST BE PREPARED to perform all operations in the station, including planning and executing the jobs they are qualified to perform. Also, be prepared for STORM work, including service restoration.
4. While working alone at a station they WILL TAKE independent action within the limits of their qualifications to do such switching as becomes necessary to protect life, service or restore service. If such switching is of a type which normally would be considered as work of a higher rated classification, such step-up pay as is required by the Agreement between the parties is paid.
5. CLEANS switchboards, floors, aisles, toilets, etc., by sweeping and mopping. REMOVES snow from walkways..
6. REPLACES lamps and bulbs on switchboards in buildings, and on mats as necessary.
7. Answers telephones, admits authorized visitors, and receives supplies.
8. TAKES annual CORE Training courses, including First Aid, and other compliance training.
