Job Summary:

As a Clinical Intake Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals access the behavioral health services they need. This position offers the opportunity to work with a compassionate and collaborative team, build strong clinical assessment skills, engage with diverse populations across the lifespan, and be a key part of life-changing care decisions. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive initial assessments, establish provisional diagnoses, and develop treatment recommendations for individuals seeking services. You will connect clients to appropriate programs, support crisis intervention efforts when needed, and ensure accurate and timely documentation. You may also have the opportunity to provide brief therapeutic support and, with approval, supervise trainees.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive screenings and clinical assessments to determine service eligibility and individual needs
• Develop initial treatment plans, establish provisional diagnoses, and recommend appropriate level of care and referrals
• Provide brief therapeutic support and assist with safety planning or crisis intervention as needed
• Coordinate follow-up care and connect clients with internal programs and community resources
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and data reporting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support client care goals and minimize service disruptions
• Participate in team meetings, peer reviews, and professional development activities
• Promote mental health awareness through education and community outreach opportunities
• Support departmental goals, quality assurance efforts, and program evaluation initiatives
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field required
• Active state licensure required based on area of practice (LP, PLP, LPC, PLPC, LCSW, LMSW, PLMFT, or LMFT)
Additional Qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to apply critical thinking and sound clinical judgment in decision-making
• Must pass background screenings including criminal, driving, and abuse/neglect checks
Physical Requirements
• Sit or stand for extended periods (2–4 hours) with occasional movement for field-based activities
• Use hands and fingers frequently for typing, writing, and handling documents
• Occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds
