Job Description

Section Manager, Plant Engineering

We are seeking a Section Manager, Plant Engineering to join our Factory, Platforms & Modularisation organisation. The position is based in Hedehusene, Denmark. Some team members are based in Poznań, and only limited travel is expected.

Ready to help build a better future for generations to come?

In an ever-changing, fast paced world, we owe it to ourselves and our future generations to live life responsibly.  At ROCKWOOL, we work relentlessly to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.

Join us and make a difference!

Your future team:

You will lead our Plant Engineering team (13) in Factory, Platforms & Modularisation—a group of specialists who turn investment ideas and standards into site-specific, buildable and operable factory solutions. The team is the technical backbone in projects, ensuring our line designs are functional end-to-end, can be built safely, and are handed over performing to specification.

As Section Manager, you will manage a team covering three key competence areas:

  • Design Managers, who translate the business case into a factory and line layout, coordinate civil and equipment interfaces, manage the CAD schedule, and drive cross-discipline design decisions to secure overall line functionality and compliance through project stages.

  • Process Engineers, who provide deep process expertise from early specification through commissioning and running-in, develop/own key process agreements (incl. Process Desing Document), and run the ramp-up of greenfield projects, as well as troubleshooting and optimisation in operating factories.

  • Abatement Specialists, who secure that our solutions meet air permit and environmental requirements, translate regulatory and sustainability requirements into engineering specifications, identify compliance risks early, and support design reviews, testing and operations of abatement/measuring solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and develop the team, including day-to-day coaching, feedback, onboarding/mentoring and performance reviews.
  • Ensure plant engineering deliverables (line layouts, process design, abatement solutions, and technical running-in) meet quality standards, project requirements and GT specifications.
  • Act as senior technical quality gate for line functionality and resolve engineering challenges during delivery—ultimately accountable for the technical functionality of the plant.
  • Ensure civil input and line layout processes in projects are aligned with Civil’s requirements.
  • Ensure standards are applied consistently (and approved deviations are followed) and consolidate improvement feedback to relevant stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, feedback, performance management and team development across diverse specialist profiles.
  • Strong understanding of factory operations and Plant Engineering disciplines (line design, process engineering and abatement).
  • Experience with process design and technical running-in, and confidence acting as a technical quality gate.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and stage-gate ways of working
  • Strong governance adherence and experience applying standards in practice.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across functions (e.g., Civil, Project Execution, factories, Safety Health and Environment, Technology Owners).

What we offer:

At ROCKWOOL, you’ll become part of a passionate team working at the forefront of technology and sustainability. In our Group Technology division, you’ll collaborate with colleagues from around the world, all dedicated to making a meaningful impact through technology implementation.

  • A challenging position in an international and innovative company, dedicated to sustainability
  • Friendly and supportive work environment with skilled colleagues
  • Extensive opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Participation in global projects and chance to make a real impact
