Senior Project Manager, Commercial Excellence

Location: Hedehusene, Denmark
Reports to: Morten Rudfred, Director, Commercial Excellence
Member of: Commercial Excellence Management Team

About the role

Commercial Excellence at ROCKWOOL is a unified commercial function built around improving how we create revenue. We operate as one integrated team across three specialised areas: Demand & Pipeline (creating qualified opportunities), Sales Excellence (converting them into revenue), and Commercial Performance & AI (improving how we perform across the entire funnel).

As Senior Project Manager, you will drive disciplined execution of Commercial Excellence's strategic initiatives at enterprise scale. You own the project portfolio, make trade-off decisions on competing priorities, manage cross-team dependencies, and ensure we deliver with execution discipline. You interact regularly with senior leadership on priorities and progress, developing compelling cases and presentations that shape strategic direction.

What you'll do

  • Own the strategic project portfolio: Prioritise and sequence all Commercial Excellence transformation initiatives. Make trade-off decisions on competing priorities based on commercial impact and strategic fit. Maintain visibility across the full portfolio and ensure alignment with group strategy.
  • Develop C-level cases and presentations: Build compelling investment cases and strategic presentations for senior leadership. Translate complex commercial initiatives into clear, data-driven narratives that drive decisions. Partner with the leadership team to shape how commercial transformation is positioned and communicated.
  • Drive disciplined execution: Partner with Demand & Pipeline, Sales Excellence, and Commercial Performance & AI managers to ensure initiatives are resourced, tracked, and progressing toward commercial outcomes. Remove blockers, resolve cross-team dependencies, and keep initiatives moving. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves on execution challenges while maintaining strategic perspective.
  • Set governance and standards: Define how Commercial Excellence plans, executes, and measures commercial initiatives. Maintain transparent visibility of progress, risks, and blockers across the portfolio. Establish standards for project discipline, decision-making, and accountability that scale across the organisation.
  • Engage senior leadership: Interact regularly with senior leadership on strategic priorities, resource requirements, and transformation progress. Present initiatives, make investment cases, and influence strategic direction. Maintain executive alignment on commercial execution.
  • Own outcome accountability: Track business impact and commercial results across all initiatives. Make data-driven decisions on what to continue, scale, or stop. Hold teams accountable for delivery and results.

What you bring

  • Programme and project leadership: 10+ years in programme/project leadership roles managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Executive communication and case development: Excellent at translating complex initiatives into compelling C-level presentations and business cases. Proven ability to shape how strategic initiatives are positioned and communicated to senior leadership. Comfortable working with executives on strategy and decision-making.
  • Strategic + hands-on execution: You balance strategic thinking about portfolio priorities with hands-on problem-solving and execution discipline. You move between strategy and operations without losing sight of either.
  • Commercial acumen: Deep understanding of commercial execution, revenue drivers, and business impact. Ability to connect project work to business outcomes.
  • Resource management and governance: Experience managing resource allocation and trade-off decisions across competing priorities. Track record of setting and enforcing standards and governance frameworks.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Proven ability to lead effectively across multiple functions without direct authority. You build credibility through strategic thinking, sound judgment, and delivery.
  • Data-driven and pragmatic: You measure impact rigorously and make decisions based on outcomes.
