Location: Hedehusene, Denmark

Reports to: Morten Rudfred, Director, Commercial Excellence

 

About the role

Commercial Excellence at ROCKWOOL is a unified commercial function built around improving how we create revenue. We operate as one integrated team across three specialised areas: Demand & Pipeline (creating qualified opportunities), Sales Excellence (converting them into revenue), and Commercial Performance & AI (improving how we perform across the entire funnel).

As Senior Manager of Commercial Performance & AI, you will lead a 4-person team and drive commercial AI transformation across the commercial funnel. Your team owns the Customer Data Cockpit — our integrated marketing and sales data platform — and you work with all three team managers to embed AI and automation in how we generate pipeline, convert opportunities, and improve performance. You turn data into commercial priorities, understand sales dynamics, and drive change across global markets.

What you will do

  • Lead the performance and AI team: Build and develop a 4-person team focused on turning data into decisions that improve pipeline quality, conversion rates, and sales productivity. Own the Customer Data Cockpit and ensure it delivers actionable insights.
  • Drive AI transformation across the commercial funnel: Work with all three team managers to identify and scale high-impact AI use cases across the full funnel—from customer specification through pipeline conversion and revenue growth. Ensure AI is embedded in how we work, not run separately.
  • Enable data-driven decisions: Partner with sales and marketing leaders to establish KPIs, build dashboards that matter, and translate insights into prioritised actions. Use AI to improve decision quality, speed, and consistency.
  • Improve performance and scale: Identify gaps in demand generation, pipeline progression, and revenue delivery. Test, learn, and scale what works using data and AI.
  • Collaborate globally: Engage with commercial leaders and local markets across Europe, North America, and Asia to build scalable approaches that improve performance.

What you bring

  • Senior management experience: Minimum 8+ years in commercial or sales management, with proven track record of leading teams and driving measurable results.
  • Sales and commercial expertise: Deep experience in sales operations, sales leadership, or commercial analytics. Working knowledge of CRM systems, sales forecasting tools, and productivity platforms. Ideally B2B or construction/building materials background.
  • Data-driven and AI-enabled mindset: Strong analytical skills and hands-on understanding of how AI and automation improve decisions. Ability to translate complex data and AI capabilities into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial AI leadership: Proven experience leading or driving AI initiatives in sales, marketing, or commercial settings. You understand how to identify high-value AI use cases, work with technical teams, and scale adoption.
  • Cross-functional influence: Proven ability to work across sales, marketing, operations, and IT. You build credibility through insight, collaboration, and delivering results.
  • Change leadership: Track record of embedding new processes and tools across geographies and diverse teams.
  • Strategic + hands-on: You think strategically about commercial improvements and AI opportunities, but also roll up your sleeves to drive execution.
