Job Description

The Manager, Ai Strategy & Partnerships will help shape Visa's strategy across the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of emerging technology, product innovation, and strategic partnerships, with a focus on understanding how advancements in AI are reshaping commerce, payments, and digital experiences. The role will work closely with AI model providers, developer platforms, infrastructure companies, startups, and strategic technology partners to identify opportunities relevant to Visa's long-term growth strategy. 

This is an opportunity to join Visa's Global Growth Products & Partnerships team and work directly with many of the companies shaping the future of AI. The team is responsible for understanding where the market is heading, identifying opportunities for Visa to participate in emerging ecosystems, and helping translate those opportunities into new products, partnerships, and business lines. 

The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in emerging technologies. They enjoy learning how new products are built, tracking shifts in developer ecosystems, evaluating business models, and developing informed perspectives on where technology is creating new opportunities. They are comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping shape strategy within rapidly changing markets. 

Strategy & Ecosystem Development 

  • Develop a deep understanding of the AI ecosystem, including model providers, AI applications, developer platforms, infrastructure providers, and emerging technology trends. 

  • Monitor market developments, competitive activity, startup ecosystems, and evolving developer behavior to identify strategic opportunities relevant to Visa. 

  • Conduct market research, ecosystem mapping, and strategic analysis to help inform Visa's approach to AI-native commerce and emerging digital experiences. 

  • Build relationships with founders, product leaders, developers, investors, and ecosystem participants to gain insight into where technology and business models are evolving. 

  • Develop recommendations and strategic perspectives that help guide product, partnership, and investment decisions. 

Product Strategy & Partnerships 

  • Explore how emerging AI technologies can create new opportunities for Visa products, platforms, and customer experiences. 
  • Work closely with product, engineering, venture, and partnership teams to evaluate ideas, prototype new concepts, and prioritize market opportunities. 
  • Support strategic partnerships with AI companies, developer platforms, and technology providers that can accelerate Visa's participation in emerging ecosystems. 
  • Translate technical developments into business implications, product opportunities, and commercialization strategies. 
  • Help define how Visa can create value within AI-native applications, agent ecosystems, and emerging digital platforms. 

Thought Leadership 

  • Provide market intelligence and ecosystem insights that help guide product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and long-term growth initiatives. 
  • Help develop Visa's perspective on the future intersection of AI, commerce, identity, and payments. 
  • Support evaluation of strategic partnerships, investments, and ecosystem opportunities relevant to Visa's long-term innovation agenda. 

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,  JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Experience in strategy, product management, partnerships, venture capital, consulting, startup ecosystems, corporate development, or related fields. 
  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, developer platforms, emerging technologies, and technology-driven business models. 
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate markets, identify emerging opportunities, and develop strategic recommendations. 
  • Comfortable engaging with technical concepts and discussing products, platforms, and technologies with engineers, founders, and product teams. 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and storytelling skills. 
  • High degree of curiosity, ownership, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. 

U.S. Applicants Only

The estimated salary range for this position is $146,200.00 to $ 233,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
