Role Overview:
The Senior Tester / Test Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role involves hands-on testing, mentoring junior testers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Strategy
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Define testing scope, objectives, and criteria for success.
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies related to testing.
Execution & Automation
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Lead automation efforts using tools like Selenium, Test Complete.
- Ensure test coverage and traceability to requirements.
Team Leadership
- Guide and mentor junior QA engineers.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct peer reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Defect Management
- Log, track, and manage defects using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and verify fixes.
- Analyze defect trends and recommend process improvements.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders.
