Newmont APAC Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, with roles in operations, projects, corporate support and exploration. APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.

As an Analyst, Process and Mining Applications you will play a hands-on role in enhancing and supporting our Mining/Process application ecosystems by ensuring functionality, security, and reliability through rigorous testing and quality assurance. You will provide expert technical support, gather and translate user feedback into continuous improvements and maintain clear documentation that empowers teams and keeps our critical application performing at their best. This role is based at our Regional Hub in Subiaco, Perth, Western Australia on a 5/2 (5 Days on, 2 Days off, days only).
This role may require travel to domestic and international mine sites, which may require you to have a modified roster whilst on those mine sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting, configuring and maintaining Mining/Process applications to meet business needs with a focus on accuracy, security, and reliability.
- Performing system testing, validation and quality assurance, driving ongoing performance and continuous improvements.
- Providing technical support, resolving use issues (including P1/P2), and acting as the APAC point of contact for troubleshooting and vendor management.
- Collaborating with internal IT teams, Operations and third-party vendors ensuring seamless integration and operations of Mining/Process applications.
- Maintaining clear documentation, contributing to a safe and collaborative team environment and supporting project activities such as reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Capabilities
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field combined with Mining/Process OT systems experience and strong problem-solving, decision-making and continuous improvement capability.
- Demonstrated experience supporting mining operations systems (e.g. MineStar Command, Fleet, Terrain, Underground, Frontrunner, Pitram, LinkOA, Surface Manager) with the ability to configure, optimize and validate systems for performance and data quality.
- Strong technical capability in troubleshooting, data analysis and system integration, including scripting or API/interface knowledge across OT/IT environments.
- Working knowledge of industrial control systems (e.g. PLCs, SCADA) and exposure to processing/data platforms such as PI, DeltaV, LIMS, PAR or AssayNet.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with knowledge of IT Service Management practices and experience working across teams and vendors, as well as strong problem solving, decision making and continuous improvement capability.
