Ansell is looking for a Senior Specialist Customs Compliance EMEA to join our team in Brussels, Belgium. 

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with global and regional trade regulations across import, export, and customs operations. You will act as a subject matter expert for customs compliance across Europe and the Middle East, partnering closely with Logistics, Procurement, Legal, Sales, and external authorities to maintain and continuously improve robust compliance processes aligned with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

 

  • Ensure alignment with customs compliance requirements across EMEA through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders  

  • Own and maintain customs KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities and driving compliance optimization  

  • Manage Denied/Restricted Party Screening and support AEO certification processes  

  • Oversee customs entry audits and coordinate with brokers and external service providers  

  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation actions  

  • Support customs clearance operations across regional warehouses and direct shipments  

  • Ensure timely reporting to customs authorities  

  • Act as SME for tariff classification, origin, valuation, trade documentation, and regulatory audits.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary compliance actions  

  • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs  

  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of customs processes and systems 

 

KEY POSITION REQUREMENTS:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Customs, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field  

  • Professional certifications in customs and trade compliance are considered an asset  

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in customs operations and trade compliance within Europe, with UAE exposure desirable 

  • Strong expertise in customs regulations, clearance procedures, tariff classification, customs valuation, and rules of origin  

  • Experience working with ERP and customs systems (e.g., SAP, Customs Streamliner and / or similar tools)   

  • Proven experience managing customs brokers, external vendors, and cross-border operations  

  • Experience working in a regional or multinational matrix organization  

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex processes and implement practical compliance solutions  

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex customs and operational issues and provide recommendations  

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills  

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills  

  • Fluent English and Dutch and strong French will be preferred  

 

Additional requirements 

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%  

  • Ability to represent the customs compliance function internally and externally
