Job Description
Salary: $17.74
Hours: 7:00 am - 2:20 pm
Reports To: Building Principal

Job Summary
The Library Paraprofessional supports classroom teachers and library media specialists in integrating technology into the learning environment. This role includes assisting with interventions, instruction, and supervision of students in the classroom and learning commons as scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Support:
- Assist students and staff with locating print and non-print resources using Destiny and the internet.
Supervise students in the learning commons and assist with interventions and instruction.
Instructional Support:
- Reinforce learning through supplementary work and data collection.
- Assist with integrating technology and 21st-century skills into the curriculum.
Library Operations:
- Support the Library Media Specialist with processing materials, supervising students, and managing overdue or missing materials.
- Monitor the circulation desk and maintain accurate records of overdue, lost books, and fines.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and initiate work orders as needed.
Technology and Training:
- Demonstrate the use of technology tools to integrate into the curriculum.
- Assist students, staff, and parents in accessing district accounts.
- Attend workshops and training sessions as required by the district.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum of sixty (60) college credit hours required or completion of Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment or completion of Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program upon hire (paid for by the district). As a condition of continued employment, the job incumbent must have and retain a valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.
Experience: Job-related experience is desired.
Skills: Proficiency in handling library resources, assisting students with research, and maintaining accurate records.
Abilities: Ability to work with diverse individuals, manage tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
