Job Description
Job Summary
The Mortgage Funder is responsible for reviewing loan funding documents, requesting funds, and authorizing disbursement of loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews executed loan documents to ensure funding and regulatory compliance in accordance with federal and state regulations such as, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending Practices.
Requests and reviews funding requirements from escrow/title agent, loan processor, and/or loan originator. Initiates wire amount through bank wire system.
Updates loan information on LOS as needed including signing off on funding conditions as required.
Effectively communicates with borrowers and team members as well as outside entities to facilitate a prompt, efficient closing of each loan.
Reads and resolves any loan compliance issues during closing/funding process. Responds to and resolves any post-closing/audit findings.
Follows up and obtains initial full loan package from Title Company. Completes all steps in LOS to deliver electronic funded loan packages to Post Closing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Three years loan closing/funding experience in residential mortgage
Functional/Technical Skills
Working knowledge of HUD-1 settlement statements, FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC guidelines along with title commitments, hazard and flood insurance policies
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates a commitment to quality customer service
Strong attention to detail
Well organized with the ability to multi-task
Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Works well with others
Proficient in all compliance-related regulations including RESPA
Strong mathematical skills
Strong PC skills (MS Office products) and experience with mortgage origination systems
