FM is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive (BDE) to join a dynamic, growth-focused team. This is a client-facing, fast-paced and collaborative role that will be responsible for opening doors and building business opportunities across Southern Europe in various industrial and commercial property classes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Achieve new business objectives as established by the Regional Sales Manager.
- Support FM’s continued growth in Southern Europe.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and brokers to drive a sustained pipeline of new business opportunities. Maintain an active involvement in the local insurance community by participating in meetings, conferences and appearing at industry-related functions.
- Stay actively engaged in the local insurance community through meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Maintain a solid understanding of competitors’ products, services, pricing, and market practices.
- Develop an annual sales plan outlining target prospects and key activities (e.g., outreach, campaigns, client meetings) to progress opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Contribute to the annual sales forecast as part of the financial planning process.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date reporting of client interactions and opportunities in SRS (Strategic Relationship System).
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree, CPCU, ACII experience or advanced degree in business, marketing, or engineering desirable or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 + years-experience in the insurance Industry (broker/ insurance company/ industry) in servicing large multinational property accounts of varying occupancies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Skilled in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, fostering trust, alignment, and long-term partnerships.
- Strategic-minded with solid sales and negotiation expertise, delivering value-driven outcomes.
- Team player with a track record of contributing to high-performing, collaborative teams.
- Skilled in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, fostering trust, alignment, and long-term partnerships.
- Highly versatile, persistent and adaptable, supported by strong digital and computer proficiencies.
- Fluent in Spanish and English; additional languages (Portuguese, Italian, or French) are a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% within sales territory in Southern Europe, and elsewhere, as needed.
