Job Description

Job Description:  The Technical Service & Development Specialist is a customer-facing technical role supporting thermoplastic injection molding applications. Working closely with customers, molders, designers, and toolmakers, this position consults on part design and tool design, recommends robust processing windows, and helps plan and execute prototype manufacturing and trials to validate designs and materials. The role combines strong polymer processing fundamentals with hands-on troubleshooting to improve part performance, manufacturability, and quality from concept through production.   Key Responsibilities:  Field Technical and application development support for the Americas (North & South America) region.  Supporting customers in thermoplastic injection molding, consulting in part design, tool design and prototype manufacturing.  Basic support for specialty processes (extrusion, blow molding, specialty injection molding)  Leading technical programs in collaboration with marketing and sales representatives  Networking with the global technical team  Identifying productivity and quality improvements at customer manufacturing sites  Observation, Assessments and Validation of technical trends and new processing technologies relevant for engineering polymers  Actively driving the technical specification across the range of  Delrin® polyacetal resins in existing and new applications by understanding customer needs and promoting the Delrin® value proposition to key decision makers throughout the value chain.   Working with Marketing, Technology, Product teams to identify, target and grow a pipeline of profitable growth opportunities.  Readiness to travel >50%.    Ideal Profile:  Academic technical education (i.e. mechanical or manufacturing engineering), optionally with plastic material science.  Min. 2 year practical experience in thermoplastic injection molding  Analytical and methodical in solving technical challenges  Ability to build collaborative relationships internally and with customers  Demonstrable ability to “open doors”, network effectively across levels and functions, develop relationships and identify customer needs.  Pro-active self-starter, independent achiever and results-oriented team player.  Engagement and ownership to drive  innovation projects for sophisticated customers to completion within tight timelines  Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office based applications  Proficiency in tool making, CAE or process simulation tools is a plus.  Fluent in English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese would be an added advantage.  Experience with POM(Acetal) preferred.    We offer:  A challenging position in an entrepreneurial, independent company with large growth goals.
