
Associate Staff: Hardware Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION
Group 96 is seeking an Associate Staff member to join our multidisciplinary engineering team building space prototypes. Depending on background, this might involve systems engineering, design (Mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, controls etc.) or hardware assembly, integration and test. The successful candidate will have a broad background of life experience in these areas, and an interest in following space prototypes through the full life cycle.
The role requires a background in hardware engineering, broadly defined. The candidate will be expected to work in a team environment, owning delivery of a hardware subsystem for a prototyping effort. This will involve focused engineering work in their own discipline, as well as collaboration with others across the team to execute design, build and test activities to deliver their subsystem.
REQUIREMETNS:
- A Master’s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related field
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields with at least 2 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Previous experience in hardware development for field applications.
- Interest in development of high reliability hardware for space applications.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to support work-related travel up to 10%
