Sous Chef Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort Location Hilton Head Island, South Carolina Job Overview The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in the overall success of the culinary operations by supporting the Executive Chef in daily kitchen management, food quality, team leadership, and operational excellence. This position plays a key role in maintaining Omni standards while delivering exceptional dining experiences for resort guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to mentoring culinary talent while maintaining high standards of sanitation, consistency, and creativity. Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations, including restaurants, banquets, and special events Supervise and lead culinary team members in daily production and service Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet Omni standards Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures Assist with scheduling, inventory control, purchasing, and labor management Train, coach, and develop kitchen associates Support menu execution and seasonal culinary initiatives Ensure compliance with health department regulations and company policies Maintain a positive and professional work environment Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure exceptional guest experiences Qualifications Previous Sous Chef or culinary leadership experience in a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant environment preferred Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays Passion for hospitality and guest service excellence ServSafe certification preferred Omni Benefits & Perks At Omni Hotels & Resorts, we believe in empowering our associates with opportunities to grow professionally while enjoying exceptional benefits and resort perks.
