Job Description
JOB.TITLE WHY PICAL RESORT 5* We invite you to join us in creating and shaping new standards in tourism and hospitality at the new Pical Resort 5*, Valamar Collection. This brand-new resort, opening in early 2026, is located just a few minutes from the historic center of Poreč. Pical Resort 5* is the most significant project in Croatian tourism and will offer high-quality, year-round tourism with a wide variety of amenities tailored to different types of vacations. It aims to elevate the quality of tourism in Poreč, Istria, and Croatia as a whole. The resort will feature 514 premium accommodation units, 3,000 m² of indoor and outdoor pools, a choice of 11 restaurants and 10 bars, a wellness center, beautifully arranged beaches and beach clubs, and many other exceptional facilities. Pical Resort 5* will offer a wealth of amenities for families and children — from fully equipped playrooms to specialized services and unique entertainment programs for all ages, including PlayLand, the largest play and learning center in the region, spanning over 1,200 m². There will also be a wide range of active holiday options – a cycling center with bike rentals and pump tracks, a tennis center, various water sports and a swimming school, cycling and jogging trails, multifunctional sports courts, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The resort will also include one of the best congress centers in Croatia, with a multifunctional hall accommodating up to 1,200 participants. WHAT DO WE OFFER Monthly salary during peak season: €1,400 to €1,700 Choice of employment type: year-round or seasonal contract Accommodation in Valamar House with provided hot meals Option to join the "Krov nad glavom" program – up to €500 monthly subsidy for rental (employee-chosen or arranged by Valamar) Additional annual rewards: €1,000 – 13th salary and Christmas bonus €400 bonus for employees residing in the destination Holiday allowance, child gift, Valfresco gift voucher Opportunity for personal and career development within the company Trainings to meet the highest service standards 24/7 access to educational materials Family Friends discounts on accommodation in Valamar hotels and campsites (from Dubrovnik to Istria), as well as skiing in Austria 30% discount on food and beverages in Valamar restaurants and bars Discount on purchases in the Valfresco webshop (ready-made meals and general groceries) Discounts with over 300 partners (sports activities and excursions, wellness, online stores, opticians, hairdressers, airline tickets, transportation, banking benefits, etc.) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS One year of experience in tourism in the same or similar jobs is desirable Kindness, and guest-oriented approach High level of personal grooming and professionalism JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, and terraces according to resort standards Changing linens, towels, and consumables (soaps, shampoos, toilet paper) Precise making of beds (the so-called "hospital corner") Washing glass walls and windows Checking and replenishing minibars, drinks, and other amenities Meticulous arrangement of decorations, pillows, and promotional materials Checking the scent, temperature, and appearance of the room before guest arrival Recording room status (clean, occupied, check-out, etc.) using the hotel management system Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, doors, carpets, and decorations in hotel corridors Respecting guest privacy and not entering rooms when "Do Not Disturb" sign is displayed Discreet behavior when encountering guests – showing politeness and courtesy Reporting damages, missing items, or technical issues to the supervisor Special preparation for VIP guests (e.g., flowers, fruit, personalized messages) Wearing the prescribed uniform and using protective equipment when necessary
