About the Role As the Solicitor IV you will play a critical role in the provision of legal services in the Orange region, including complex casework services, duty and advice services in accordance with Legal Aid NSW policies and guidelines. The purpose of which is to contribute to the implementation of Legal Aid NSW’s mission to deliver high quality legal services to our clients and to assist them to resolve their legal problems. This is a key management role within the Orange crime team, responsible for the supervision and mentoring of junior solicitors. About You We are seeking an experienced crime lawyer with strong people management skills, advanced communication skills and the ability to achieve high quality outcomes. The successful applicant will have demonstrated: Experience providing leadership, support and mentoring to junior lawyers and supporting quality legal practice; An understanding of the unique challenges facing people in regional areas; Strong experience managing complex legal matters and exercising sound judgment. We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months at the Orange office only. About working in Orange The Orange office of Legal Aid is located in downtown Orange. The office is a busy mixed practice including specialist services which provides legal services to vulnerable people in Orange and surrounding towns in the central tablelands, including Bathurst, Lithgow, Cowra, Parkes and Forbes. Orange is a thriving regional centre, home to acclaimed restaurants and wineries, parks and gardens, with quality local music and art scenes, and near quaint heritage villages to explore.
