If so, Responsive Children's Supports is seeking a dedicated Adaptive Behaviour Consultant to join its caring and diverse team.

Responsive Children's Supports Ltd. is a not-for-profit agency that provides services to children with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges and their families. The successful candidate will utilize clinical skills to provide short-term, intensive support for the development and implementation of individualized support plans. These plans will help facilitate the growth and independence of the individuals served, while also providing coaching to families and/or caregivers. The Adaptive Behaviour Consultant will be supervised by Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) and will support individuals and their caregivers through advocacy, skills training, and community education.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Utilize clinical skills to develop and implement short-term, intensive individualized support plans for children with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
  • Facilitate the growth, skill development, and independence of individuals in service through evidence-based behavioural approaches.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and skills training to families and/or caregivers to support consistency and generalization of strategies in the home and community.
  • Support individuals and their caregivers through advocacy and community education.
  • Collaborate with and receive clinical supervision from Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs).
  • Apply Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles in the assessment and development of support plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain open communication with families, guardians, and community partners.
  • Provide de-escalation support and crisis management as needed.
  • Document and maintain accurate client records, case notes, progress reports, and data in accordance with organizational standards and timelines.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in a human services field from a recognized post-secondary institution is required (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Child and Youth Care, etc.).
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
  • Experience working with individuals with a dual diagnosis is preferred.
  • Experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a strong asset.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively within required timelines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Own vehicle with a valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $24.31 - 29.19 CAD per hour, based on education and experience. We also offer a competitive benefits package and growth opportunities.


Schedule

The typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, with flexible hours totalling 30 hours per week. Hours are likely to fall in the afternoon or evening to best meet the needs of the children and families served.
