Job Description
Job Purpose
To lead and manage maintenance work to ensure work quality and commuter safety which includes planning, executing and management reporting of corrective and preventive work.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the track system is safe for train operations by implementing an effective & efficient maintenance strategy integrating with the rail business Codes of Practice.
- Provide technical advice and engineering studies support to the line maintenance activities on improvement works through innovation and leveraging on new technology.
- Ensure that expenditures are tracked and monitored so that they are within allocated financial budgets for both Capital & Operating accounts.
- Align staff with company Vision, Mission & Core Values through regular communications & sharing sessions on progress & development of roll out plans.
- Manage the group of supervisory staff & section managers to meet KPIs, and maintain high level of productivity through the following:
- Organization of manpower deployment to match workloads.
- Review processes to organize deployment of other resources.
- Assessment on in-house work capacity and capabilities against the option of outsourced contract works.
- To attend regular branch’s performance meeting.
- Train and develop staff to be competent and proficient in their respective areas of work. Prepare eligible staff for career advancement through identification of learning need analysis (LNA) and mapping of training program with SMRTi.
- Maintain good industrial relations through creating rapport with ground staff and union representatives whilst keeping all channels of communication open.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
- Preferably with at least 10 years of working experience with 5 years in a managerial capacity.
Skills
- Good written, verbal communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Preferably possesses knowledge on project management and contractual issues with ability to deliver impartial judgment on contractual decisions.
