INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
Child Care Worker Part-Time

FOUR DAY WORK WEEK FOR SCHOLARS AND EMPLOYEES!

JOB GOAL
Responsible for providing quality child care and instruction in a day care setting and adhering to ADHS codes and statutes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Level 1 Fingerprint card, TB test
  • Preferred- First Aid/CPR, and Food Handlers Card (can get once hired)
  • Preferred-6 months experience in a licensed child care facility

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides care and instruction to promote academic and social/emotional growth
  • Monitors children’s behavior and safety inside and outside of the classroom
  • Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activates
  • Prepares classroom for activities, including creating lessons and preparing materials
  • Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and may make copies
  • May attend in-service training sessions
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
  • Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing
  • Incumbents may be subjected to blood and other body fluids
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Monitoring and assisting children with activities
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
REPORTS TO: Site Administrator
LOCATION: Cartwright Employee Childcare
SUPERVISES: NA
CALENDAR: 10 month
JOB CATEGORY: Classified
BEGINNING SALARY: ESP Salary Schedule A; As approved by the Governing Board
BENEFITS: As approved by the governing board
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
