Description: INTERNAL ONLY - 2026 R2S Summer Reading Camp Teacher

Salary: $35.00/hour - 4 days/week 
*Monday - Thursday up to 8 hours/day

*Instructional time windows....Specific instructional session times/teacher work hours
to be determined by site directors

Dates: May 29, 2026 Planning Day
June 1- June 25, 2026 (M - Th)
 

Qualifications:

• Must be a teacher certified in early childhood education or elementary education
• Teachers must have the necessary qualifications to teach literacy classes(i.e., R2S Literacy Endorsement or demonstrated success in teaching literacy)
• Current DCSD employee
• Possess experience working with struggling readers
• Demonstrated and documented success in student growth and achievement
• Qualities of teachers in the Summer Enhancement Program include: motivational, fun, helpful, reliable, flexible, positive, self-directed and self-motivated, interested in working with students struggling with reading, easily adapts to new situations, possess creativity and ability to foster curiosity

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
