POSITION: PRINCIPAL'S SECRETARY

- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- General knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.
- Secretarial, computer skills, and knowledge of a variety of office equipment.
- Ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures.
- Must have the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with the public and school personnel.
- Flexibility and multi-task oriented.
LOCATION: Hugh Mercer Elementary School
SALARY: Placement on the School Administrative Assistant Salary Scale depends on education and experience.
BEGINNING DATE: July 1, 2026

JOB DESCRIPTION
SECRETARY TO THE PRINCIPAL
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To perform varied secretarial functions for the School Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow oral and written directions efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with the public.
- Demonstrate knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, equipment, and clerical skills, thorough knowledge of English grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation and computation skills.
- Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Flexibility and multi-task oriented.
REPORTS TO: School Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month position.
EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
