
Summer School Teachers: Grades 6-8 Literacy Interventionist(s)
Job Description
Greenwich Public Schools seeks Grades 6-8 literacy interventionist(s) for its 2026 Summer School program.
- The Secondary Summer School will be located at Greenwich High School, and will run from July 6 through August 13, Mondays through Thursdays. Literacy interventionists will work 7:45-11:15 a.m., which includes 30 minutes of planning time, and have four 40-minute student sessions (8:00-8:40, 8:45-9:25, 9:30-10:10, 10:20-11:00). An additional preparation day will occur on June 29, 2026.
- Grades 6-8 literacy interventionists must be certified to teach students in grades 6-8 and in remedial reading (#102). Preference will be given to teachers with experience as a literacy specialist/interventionist.
- Compensation for all hours will be at the individual teacher's hourly per diem rate as based on the Agreement between the Greenwich Board of Education and the Greenwich Education Association.
- Positions are dependent on student enrollment.
- Preference will be given to Greenwich Public Schools teachers contracted for the 2026-27 school year, and then to other Greenwich Public Schools benefits-eligible employees.
