Paraprofessional

Position: Paraprofessional

Location: AFC Elementary School

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Ashton-Franklin Center Elementary School is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and staff to support the academic and social development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in classroom management and instructional support
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning materials and skills
• Provide support for students with special needs, ensuring their inclusion in classroom activities
• Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and other accommodations as needed
• Monitor student behavior and provide support during transitions and non-instructional times
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to maintain a positive and safe learning environment

Qualifications:
Candidates must be at least 19 years of age and meet ONE of the following criteria:

• Associate’s Degree or higher
• 60 semester hours of coursework
• High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Paraprofessional Exam
• High School Diploma or GED and the following scores on the ACT Workkeys:
  • Applied Mathematics/Applied Math (with a score of 4)
  • Reading for Information/Workplace Documents (with a score of 4)
