JOB TITLE: ROAR Campus Liaison CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt  
REPORTS TO: Director of Community and Media Relations PAY GRADE: Part-Time PT 4 Hours Daily  
LOCATION: Assigned Campus DATE REVISED: 8/26/2025

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist in the planning and effective implementation of the Reach Out And Read (ROAR) program, a community reading partnership initiative by creating an irresistible environment for volunteers and students. Provide clerical services to the assigned elementary school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to work with volunteers, students and parents
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
  • Ability to use a computer and software
  • Ability to multitask
  • Winning personality and attitude
Experience:
  • Experience working with adults and children
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Assist in organizing an active campus ROAR program.
  2. Serve as the ROAR campus liaison between the school, volunteers, central office ROAR personnel and classroom teachers.
  3. Participate in in-service and assist in developing materials and resources for the ROAR program.
  4. Perform varied typing tasks in the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports, announcements, etc. and properly route.
  5. Compile information for preparing various reports for the ROAR program based on student assessments.
  6. Maintain a filing system for ROAR files and update ROAR student files weekly.
  7. Ensure confidentiality of student information and adhere to FERPA laws.
  8. Meet strict deadlines for ROAR reports.
  9. Attend ROAR meetings, trainings, campus and district-wide events.
  10. Organize and manage ROAR campus events.
  11. Correspond and communicate with ROAR volunteers regarding daily student attendance.
  12. Assist front office staff with checking-in volunteers for ROAR sessions.
  13. Ensure that supplies (books, student folders, forms, names tags, etc.) are kept in an orderly fashion.
  14. Knowledge of Raptor System and other computer applications.
  15. Perform any other duties assigned.
  16. Adhere to strict deadlines.
  17. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Copy machines, typewriter, audiovisual equipment, computer and calculators
