JOB TITLE:	Charlton Pollard Literacy Tutor	CLASSIFICATION:	Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO:	Principal	PAY GRADE:	Choose pay category.	$15.00/hourly
LOCATION:	Assigned Campus	DATE REVISED:	10/1/2025

FUNDED BY: This position is paid through an ExxonMobil grant that is funded to pay selected Lamar students to tutor one hour per week in the assigned Charlton-Pollard 1^st grade classroom for each week that school is in session from Oct. 1, 2025, through May 22, 2026.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To improve the academic performance of struggling students in reading.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

Current Lamar student

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Tutor struggling students in reading using the Beaumont ISD-provided resources and training
Follow all directives as assigned by the supervising teacher
Supervise students in the tutoring setting under the direction of the supervising teacher
Model exceptional behavior at all time

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to instruct
Maintain emotional control under stress
Work with frequent interruptions
Normal Office Environment
